Scott Engelhart began operating his printing business in January of
1987, working out of a small store front in the Village Shopping Center.
Staff consisted of Scott along with two employees, one full and one part-time. Equipment consisted of one small AB Dick duplicator, Itek
Camera-plate maker, paper cutter, folder, and one Minolta photo copier,
.... and not a single computer.
The Village location was helpful in the early days, providing a
significant amount of walk in customers at a time before the business
was more established. Typical work produced was one or two color offset
printing, photocopies, and order out merchandise. All typesetting was
jobbed out and there was limited graphic design services available.
Although capabilities and services were a bit limited early on, the
goals of providing high quality work at competitive prices, while
offering a friendly, “easy to do business with” staff was there from day
one.
Growth was gradual but constant as capabilities such as computerized
typesetting, high volume duplicating, scanning, and digital color, to
name a few, were added to the shops capabilities.
In 1998 the move was made to a significantly larger facility (still
within the Village Shopping Center) occupying two levels at 1603 Losey
Blvd. So. Current equipment lineup includes a Ryobi two tower offset
press, Presstek DPM 34 computer to plate system, enabling extremely high
quality spot and process full color printing. A digital network
containing some of the latest dual proccesor Dell PC and Mac G5 graphic
design work stations connected to multiple Cannon and Ikon full color
units as well as an Ikon 1050 high volume black & white printer which
averages over 500,000 copies monthly. Our Graphics dept. offers
professional design and illustration services, and most popular
printing and publishing software is supported.
Today while we continue to take advantage of new technologies and
innovative ways to serve our customers, we remain focused on providing
high quality work at competitive prices in a friendly, “easy to work
with" manner.
